Summary
Tabia Lee, a former Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) director at De Anza college in Cupertino, California, brought suit against the school for terminating her in March 2023. In the complaint, she alleged that she was terminated because of her efforts in inviting certain speakers on campus focusing on antisemitism, among other things. She also alleged that the community college was targeting white people because of their race, resulting in a hostile environment against white people. The District Court held that Lee had not sufficiently established a First Amendment violation claim with leave to amend. Lee has submitted an amended complaint which is currently awaiting judgment.
